OUR MISSION STATEMENT
Phi Chi Pre-Health Society at UCI is an inclusive, student-led organization committed to empowering the next generation of healthcare professionals. Our mission is to support members across all pre-health disciplines through mentorship, academic and professional development, leadership opportunities, and meaningful service. We foster a community that uplifts one another and seeks to make a lasting impact both on campus and in the broader community.
HOW WE STARTED
Phi Chi Pre-Health Society at UCI was founded to create a supportive space for students pursuing careers in healthcare. What began as a small group of driven individuals has grown into a diverse, student-led organization focused on mentorship, leadership, and service. We are united by a shared passion for medicine and a commitment to uplifting one another. Through academic support, community engagement, and professional development, Phi Chi continues to inspire the next generation of healthcare leaders.
OUR PURPOSE
At Phi Chi, our purpose is to empower and support students on their journey to becoming healthcare professionals. We aim to provide resources, mentorship, and meaningful opportunities that help our members grow both personally and professionally. By fostering a collaborative and inclusive community, we strive to build future leaders who are not only academically prepared but also compassionate, service-driven, and committed to making a positive impact in the lives of others.
DILIGENCE
Phi Chi offers guidance to those on the pre-health track. Our members are continuing to pursue advanced degrees across a wide range of fields, within the healthcare, including medicine, nursing, public health, biomedical engineering, and more. Through our strong network, current members have the opportunity to receive valuable career guidance from students in healthcare programs.
BROTHERHOOD
Our community fosters mentorship, guidance, and opportunities for personal and professional growth. The connections our members form often lead to lifelong friendships that extend beyond their time in the chapter and offer support to one another.
PHILANTHROPY
We strive to make a positive impact through our community, from tutoring high school students, providing CPR/BLS certification, and local food drives.
HISTORY
Phi Chi was founded on March 31, 1889 and known to be one of the oldest international pre-health societies, with graduate chapters across five countries. At UC Irvine, we are proud to be the first undergraduate chapter, starting in 2025, redefining what it means to be a pre-health organization on campus. With the support of Phi Chi's international network, our chapter is striving to grow towards guidance in mentorship, leadership, and service in undergraduate pre-health communities. We are honored to continue building upon the foundation laid by those who came before us.
